Fr Pawel Kopczynski CSMA
Fr Pawel Kopczynski CSMA was born and educated in Warsaw, Poland. After graduating from an engineering technical school, Fr Pawel joined the family business. In 1997, he joined The Congregation of St Michael the Archangel, known in English speaking countries as Michaelites, and did his novitiate and philosophical studies in Krakow.
In 2000, Fr Pawel moved to Australia and studied English at Macquarie University. He continued his theological studies at Catholic Institute of Sydney and Australian Catholic University, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Theology.
In March 2005, Fr Pawel was ordained to the diaconate at Holy Spirit Parish in North Ryde. He was then ordained as a priest in his home parish on 17th September 2005. In 2006, he went to Papua New Guinea where he spent 3 years as a Parish Priest at Kasap.
On his return to Australia, Fr Pawel was assigned as an assistant priest in North Ryde for a year before being appointed chaplain at Prince of Wales Hospital Campus in Randwick in 2010. In 2013, he was appointed Parish Priest at St Anthony of Padua, Clovelly. He continued his pastoral ministry in hospitals at Randwick until late 2019.
From December 2019, Fr Pawel moved to Central Coast and was appointed Administrator of the Star of the Sea Parish in Terrigal, and then at Our Lady of the Rosary Parish in Wyoming until January 2022.
From 1st February 2022, Fr Pawel Kopczynski CSMA, will take on pastoral responsibilities as Administrator of St Kevin’s Parish, Eastwood.
